Carlos Cadavid was born in Cali, Columbia in 1946. He attended the Chicago Art Institue and the Art Students League. His work disrupts traditional schemes by surprising the viewer with textiles as centerpiece compositions. The painting beauty arrests your attention without neglecting balance, order, and equilibrium.
Now residing in Florida, Cadavid has shown in Artexpo New York and Las Vegas, a Group Show in Dubai Arab Emirates, a Group Show at the Colombian Embassy in the Dominican Republic, the Miami Art Show, Bellas Artes Museum in Puerto Rico, Imagen Galeria in Panama, The Guernica Gallery in the Dominican Republic, and notable organizations in Florida.
The red fabric tie above is named "Pagliacci" and is an oil on canvas measuring 40' x 60'. You can learn more about Cadavid at www.cadavidart.com.
